Hon. Tijani 'Emir' Ward Football League Championship 2024 Kicks off in Lagos with High Expectations

LAGOS, NIGERIA.

The highly anticipated maiden edition of the Hon. Surajudeen Tijani (Emir) Ward Football League Championship 2024 is set to commence this weekend in Lagos State, Nigeria. The male football competition, organised across five wards in Ojo Constituency II, promises to be an exciting display of skill, talent, and community spirit.


The league format tournament will feature five of political wards, labeled A to E, competing against each other in a total of 40 matches. Each ward will play eight matches, with four home and four away games, and the team earning the highest points will be declared the champion. The competition will run from September 13th to November 16th, 2024, across various locations, including LASUED pitch, LA Nursery and Primary School, Ilogbo Elegba, and St Philips Anglican Nursery and Primary School Ese-Ofin.

Hon. Surajudeen Tijani, a Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ojo Constituency II and Chairman of  the House Committee on House Services, is the brain behind this innovative initiative. Known for his passion for youth development, community growth, and sports, Hon. Emir aims to use the tournament to foster unity, promote talent discovery, and provide a platform for young people in the constituency to showcase their skills.


The Hon. Emir Ward Football League Championship 2024 has generated significant excitement among football enthusiasts, community leaders, and residents of Ojo Constituency II. The tournament is expected to attract a large following, with fans eager to support their local teams and witness the emergence of new talent.
